HOW ACQUIRED: Selected on December 10, 2014, with the first overall pick of the 2014 MLS Waiver Draft.

Prior to his move to North America, Reo-Coker played over 200 games in the English Premier League, serving as captain with all three clubs he competed for in England’s top flight.

Reo-Coker, 30, split last season between the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Chivas USA following a trade that sent him to Los Angeles, playing 21 games, including 17 starts, for a total of 1,467 minutes.

He originally joined the Whitecaps FC on February 21, 2013. In his first full season in MLS, the versatile midfielder played 32 games, going the full 90 minutes in his 31 starts, for a total of 2,817 minutes.

The experienced midfielder suited up for West Ham United FC, from 2004 until 2007, appearing in over 120 matches and scoring 11 goals. He also played in the FA Cup final in 2006 against Liverpool FC.

From 2007 to 2011, Reo-Coker played four seasons with Aston Villa FC, making 102 appearances, before joining the Bolton Wanderers for one season in 2011/2012, scoring four goals in 42 games played.

Internationally, the Londoner scored one goal in eight appearances for England’s U21 national team and captained the side during the 2007 UEFA U21 Championship. Previously, Reo-Coker made three appearances with England’s U20 squad in 2005. In 2006, Reo-Coker was a standby player for England’s FIFA World Cup roster.
