First David Villa, now Jeb Brovsky.
New York City FC added their second player on Thursday, trading a second-round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft to the Montreal Impact in exchange for the 25-year-old Notre Dame product. In a release, NYCFC said Brovsky would be loaned to a non-MLS team for the remainder of the 2014 season.
"I feel very fortunate that we are in a position to add a player of Jeb's quality this early in our process," New York City FC head coach Jason Kreis said in a team statement. "He is a player my staff and I have been very fond of, going back several years ago when he entered the league, and we have been watching and appreciating him ever since."
Originally selected by the Vancouver Whitecaps in the second round of the 2011 SuperDraft, Brovsky made 24 appearances, including 16 starts, for the Whitecaps in 2011. He was selected by Montreal in that year's expansion draft and was a regular starter for the Impact at outside back over the last two years. He had started seven of Montreal's 13 games this season.

New York City FC and Orlando City will both enter MLS as expansion clubs in 2015. Orlando City have five players signed to MLS contracts, all of whom are currently playing for the unbeaten Lions in USL PRO.
