Tyler Blackett was signed on August 6, 2021 by FC Cincinnati to an MLS contract through June 2022 with additional options to extend through the 2023 season.

2021 (FC Cincinnati): Appeared in 11 games, starting eight after his mid-season signing … Scored one goal, in stoppage time against Chicago Fire FC on October 10 … Made his season debut on Sept. 18 vs. NYCFC, where he played 13 minutes as a sub … Made sub appearances the next two games before his first start vs. New York Red Bulls on Oct. 2 … Started the next seven matches, in total the final eight matches, of the 2021 season primarily at center back … Totaled 772 minutes, with a 141.7 duel percentage, eight interceptions, 312 passes and an 83.9 passing percentage.

OUTSIDE MLS: The English International has made over 150 professional appearances in Europe’s top leagues, including the Premier League, EFL Championship and Scottish Premiership … Blackett most recently played for Nottingham Forest in the Championship, making 14 appearances in the 2020-21 season for the Reds as the side narrowly missed the promotion playoffs … Prior to making his move to Forest, Blackett played four seasons with Reading FC, appearing in 110 matches for the club and providing eight assists from defensive positions … The Manchester, England native first became connected to his hometown club of Manchester United in 2002 at the age of eight, where he worked his way up through the youth system for the Red Devils up to signing a professional contract with the club on May 7, 2012 … He made 11 Premier League appearances with the Manchester United senior team in the 2014-15 campaign and spent additional time on loan with Blackpool and Birmingham City in the EFL Championship … He also played a spell on loan at Celtic FC in Scotland, where his squad won the Scottish Premiership in 2015-16.

INTERNATIONAL: At the youth international level, he represented England nine times from the U16 side up to his most recent appearance on September 9, 2014 with the English U21 team under manager Gareth Southgate.
