Career Summary

Centerback whose aerial prowess is his calling card.

What Scouts Say: "Big, strong and athletic defender ... His physical attributes are great. Monster of an athlete ... Very, very good in the air. Big threat in the air ... He can defend 1-v-1 ... Team leader and a general. He's a competitor and just a ball-winner ... Tough, physical and works hard ... Speed is pretty good and covers a ton of ground ... His biggest challenge at next level is to get more composed on the ball and not be a college soccer player just heading or kicking balls ... Needs to be more composed on the ball and improve technically ... Right-footed. Comfortable with both feet, but a lot more with his right ... Played some at defensive midfield for St. Mary's, but not clean enough on the ball to be defensive midfielder in MLS. Doesn't have the speed of play to play in an MLS midfield ... At the next level if he's going to make it, he's going to be a centerback ...  His feet are good enough as a centerback to be a ball-winner and connect passes."

College (St. Mary's College): Team captain as a senior and 2012 West Coast Conference Defender of the Year ... Led his team with five goals in 2012, a feat he accomplished as a freshman when his four goals paced the squad in 2009 ... Played a key role in that 2009 defense that helped record a new single-season record with seven shutouts ... Added two more game-winning goals against ranked opponents in his 2010 sophomore season and scored three times as a junior in 2011 ... Member of most successful class in St. Mary's school history with a 40-25-16 record, the program's first WCC title and two NCAA tournament appearances.

Club: Played for San Diego Surf.

High School: Was a three sport athlete at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, Calif ... in his senior year, he was named to the All-CIF First Team and the All-Avocado League Second Team in soccer.
