USA roster: 4 MLS players called for Mauricio Pochettino's first camp
New head coach Mauricio Pochettino has named his first US men’s national team roster, calling up four MLS players for October friendlies against Panama and Mexico.
Charlotte FC signed American defender Tim Ream on Aug. 7, 2024.
During Ream's first season in the Queen City saw him feature and start in nine regular season matches after his midseason move. He made his debut with The Crown on Aug. 24 against the club that originally drafted him in 2010, New York Red Bulls. He finished the year with one goal and one assist ahead of CLTFC’s postseason run. He started in all three of the Club’s matches in the MLS Cup Playoffs against Orlando City SC and helped keep a clean sheet in Game 2.
Prior to his time in Charlotte, Ream spent the previous nine season with Fulham FC in both the English Premier League and the English Championship. He amassed 312 appearances for the Cottagers and helped the club secure promotion to the Premier League on three separate occasions (2018, 2020, 2022). In a standout 2022-23 campaign, Ream made 33 appearances in the Premier League and helped the West London club to a finish in the top half of the English topflight for the first time in over a decade.
2024 (Charlotte FC): MLS Regular Season – Featured in nine matches, all of which being starts. Recorded a goal against CF Montréal on Sept. 14. Notched an assist on Decision Day during the Club’s 3-0 win over DC United. Made his debut against New York Red Bulls on Aug. 24. MLS Cup Playoffs – Appeared and started in all three of the Club’s first round matchup against Orlando City SC. Helped keep a clean sheet in Game 2 in CLTFC’s first-ever playoff victory.
