Steve Purdy

Purdy, a 28-year-old Salvadoran-American, joined the Red-and-White in February 2013, after playing the previous two seasons with the Portland Timbers. The 6-foot-4 center back made 11 starts for Portland and has been called in for international duty for both the U.S. and El Salvador.

Purdy was born in Bakersfield California to an American father and Salvadoran mother. He played college soccer for UC Berkeley. While he represented the United States at various youth levels, Purdy chose to represent El Salvador at the senior international level, where he has collected 13 caps and scored one goal.
