A midseason signing for the Fire in 2012, Sherjill MacDonald helped the Fire return to the MLS Playoffs for the first time in three seasons. A strong, powerful forward with tremendous ability to play with his back towards the goal, the former Dutch youth international added a physical presence to the Fire’s front line, scoring four goals and tallying four assists. The striker will once again pair up with returning leading scorer Chris Rolfe as the duo leads the Fire attack this season.

Abroad: Joined Belgian Pro League side Germinal Beerschot in 2009 making 82 appearances over three seasons, scoring 15 goals… In 2009 West Bromwich Albion sent him on loan to Belgian Pro League side K.S.V Roeselare where he appeared in 16 matches scoring six goals… In his first full season with West Bromwich Albion he was sent on loan to English third division side Hereford United putting up an impressive six goals in seven matches… West Bromwich Albion signed him in 2008 after his loan was up; he would go on to make five first team appearances in two seasons… In 2007 AGOVV loaned him to English side West Bromwich Albion for a full season where he made 18 appearances… Signed with Netherlands side AGOVV in 2006 making 24 appearances and scoring 11 goals in three seasons with the team… In his fifth season with Anderlecht he was sent on loan to Hamburger SV ll making 22 appearances and scoring four times… in 2004, Anderlecht sent him on loan to Netherlands side Hercles Almelo scoring four goals in 17 appearances with the club....
