Career Summary

Acquired by Los Angeles: Selected by the Galaxy in the first round (16th overall) of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft.

The Galaxy’s first round pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft, Paolo Cardozo will look to follow in the successful footsteps of past Galaxy rookies such as Sean Franklin, Omar Gonzalez, A.J. DeLaGarza and Michael Stephens. One of three international professionals who were eligible for the SuperDraft, the young Uruguayan spent his entire career in Argentina before coming to MLS. A small but skillful midfielder who can play on the left or in the middle, Cardozo was in the youth system at River Plate for more than 10 years before joining Quilmes, who he helped earn promotion to the Argentinean Primera Division last season.
