The versatile Costa Rican defender Michael UmaƱa, joins Chivas USA from Costa Rican club Liberia Mia. Born on July 16, 1982, UmaƱa made his professional debut in the Costa Rican First Division with CS Herediano in 2005, joining the LA Galaxy later that year. After a one-year stint with the Galaxy, UmaƱa returned to Costa Rica where he played with CS Herediano, Brujas and his latest club Liberia Mia.
