Burton signed an MLS contract with Austin FC in January 2024, making him the second player from the Club's Academy to sign as a Homegrown with the first team and the first to represent Austin at the Academy, Second Team, and First Team levels.
During the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season, Burton made 24 appearances (14 starts), recording two (2) goals, 15 key passes and an 85.3 percent pass success rate as Austin FC II won the league title. On April 16, 2023, Burton became the youngest-ever professional goalscorer in the Austin FC organization when he registered his first professional goal against St. Louis CITY2.
Burton represented the United States U-17 Men’s National Team at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia last fall, playing in all four (4) of the team’s matches. In total, Burton has scored five (5) goals in 16 appearances for the Stars & Stripes at the U-17 international level.
