2013: Finalist for the MLS Most Valuable Player Award, named to the 2013 MLS Best XI and awarded the Giuseppe Saputo Trophy, given to the Impact Most Valuable Player after leading the Impact and finishing third in the league in scoring with 20 goals in 33 games played, 31 as a starter, for a total of 2,746 minutes… Became just the 11th player in league history to reach the 20 goal plateau in a single season, including five game-winners… Started the Eastern Conference Knockout Round game against Houston in the MLS Playoffs… Recorded four multiple goal games and a hat trick on May 25 against the Philadelphia Union… Named MLS Player of the Week for Week 28… Took part in the MLS All-Star Game against AS Roma… Selected seven times to the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Week and voted eight times by the fans as the Videotron Player of the Game… Also helped the team win the Amway Canadian Championship, recording two goals and two assists in three games… Played in three CONCACAF Champions League games.

2012: Finished third on the Impact with five goals, adding three assists in 17 games, including 16 starts, and 1,366 minutes… Made his MLS debut on June 27 against Toronto FC and scored his first MLS goal on July 28 against New York… Won the MLS Goal of the Week in week 25 against D.C. United, the last of four consecutive GOTW titles for the Impact in August… Also played in international matches against Olympique Lyonnais, at Stade Saputo, as well as Bologna FC and ACF Fiorentina during the post-season tour in Italy.

2011/2012: Led Bologna FC with 10 goals and seven assists in 37 games and 2,713 minutes of play, including a brace in a 3-0 win against Inter Milan on February 17… Played in one Coppa Italia game… Joined the Impact on May 24, becoming the first Designated Player in club history… Left Serie A tied for 27th all-time for most goals scored in the Italian first division, with 142 goals in 342 games.

2010/2011: Was named Bologna FC’s team captain before the season… Finished fifth in Serie A with 19 goals… Also registered four assists in 38 games, all starts… Played in one Coppa Italia game.

2009/2010: Finished his second season with Bologna FC with 12 goals and three assists in 30 games, including 28 starts… Played in one Coppa Italia game.

2008/2009: Joined Bologna FC in August 2008 following the club’s promotion to the first division… Finished the season tied for second in Serie A with 24 goals in 38 games, adding four assists… Also played five Coppa Italia games.

2007/2008: Scored three goals in 22 games with Genoa, including nine starts… Played in one Coppa Italia game.

2006/2007: Following his complete transfer to Monaco in Ligue 1, scored three goals in 14 games, including six starts… Started two Coupe de la Ligue games… Made his Serie B return in the second half of the season with Genoa CFC, helping the team earn promotion to the first division after registering nine goals in 22 games.

2005/2006: Played five games in La Liga in the first half of the season with Valencia CF… Was then loaned to French first division club AS Monaco, finishing the season tied for second on the club with five goals in 15 games… Started two Coupe de la Ligue games.

2004/2005: Transferred to first division Spanish side Valencia CF for 10.5 million €, leading the club with 11 goals in 29 regular season games… Scored one goal in five UEFA Champions League games and the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Porto FC in the UEFA SuperCup… Played two games in the UEFA Cup Round of 32… Started one game in the Supercopa de Espana against Real Zaragoza.

2003/2004: Finished second on Juventus with 11 goals in 29 games, helping the team finish third in Serie A… Scored three goals in eight UEFA Champions League games… Also played two Coppa Italia games.

2002/2003: Loaned to Juventus of Turin in July for the sum of 7 million € before being officially sold in the summer of 2003 for 14 million €… Scored seven goals in 26 games, winning his first Serie A championship… Helped the club reach the UEFA Champions League final, scoring four goals in 11 matches in the tournament… Won the Supercoppa Italiana against AC Milan, at Giants Stadium, New York, scoring a goal on a penalty in the shoot-out.

2001/2002: Finished third in Serie A after scoring 20 goals in 33 games with Parma, including a hat-trick against Unione Venezia… Played two UEFA Champions League games and scored two goals in eight UEFA Cup games… Also helped the team win its third Coppa Italia, scoring one goal in six games.

2000/2001: Led Parma to fourth place in Serie A, scoring 15 goals in 27 games… Scored two goals during the UEFA Cup… Added two goals in the Coppa Italia, helping the team advance to the final.

1999/2000: Following Salernitana’s relegation to the second division, he stayed in Serie A after signing with Parma… Scored six goals in 23 games with the Gialloblù, finishing second on the team… Played two UEFA Champions League games.

1998/1999: Led his team with 12 goals in 29 games in his second season with Salernitana.

1997/1998: After joining Salernitana in Serie B, earned the league’s Golden Boot after scoring 21 goals in 36 games, all starts… Led the team to a first place finish, gaining promotion to the first division.

1996/1997: Signed with Bari in July, in the Italian second division, scoring three goals in 27 games.

1995/1996: Scored one goal in seven games with Verona in Serie B, following a transfer from Lazio.

1994-1995: Made his Serie A debut with Lazio, in his hometown Roma, scoring three goals in eight games.

INTERNATIONAL

Scored two goals in 14 games with the Italian National Team… Played a number of friendlies from 2001-2004, most notably against the U.S., Uruguay and Spain… Was also a member of Italy’s 2004 Euro squad… Also played in a FIFA World Cup qualifier in 2006.
