SignedA U.S. Youth National Team standout, Garces is a 17-year-old goalkeeper currently in Atlanta United’s Academy system. He made his professional debut with ATL UTD 2 as a starter against Charlotte Independence June 13.
2017-18 (Atlanta United Academy): Garces made 11 starts for the U-19s.
INTERNATIONAL: Garces has been involved in the U.S. Youth National team system since age 14. Last year Garces started every match for the U-17 squad at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India and helped lead the U.S. to the Quarterfinals. Garces became the first U.S. goalkeeper to record three clean sheets at a U-17 World Cup as he blanked India and Ghana in the group stage and then Paraguay in the Round of 16. He was awarded the Golden Glove at the 2017 CONCACAF U-17 Championship and earned a place in the tournament’s Best XI after recording four wins and two clean sheets as the U.S. fell on penalty kicks to Mexico in the Final. Garces was also awarded the Golden Glove at the 2016 Nike International Friendlies when he conceded just two goals over three matches, helping the USA claim the tournament title.
