One of the biggest factors in Real Salt Lake’s 2016 turnaround has been one of their newest players: Juan Manuel “Burrito” Martinez.The Argentine attacker signed a Designated Player deal with RSL last summer, joining the club from Boca Juniors after a successful 12-year run in South America. He wasted no time in adjusting to MLS, immediately adding to RSL’s attack and recording one goal and one assist in eight regular season matches down the stretch in 2015.He’s continued to make major contributions in 2016, scoring seven goals and notching three assists in 26 appearances for the Claret-and-Cobalt. His most important tally may have come on Wednesday night, when he beat Galaxy ‘keeper Brian Rowe with the final kick of the match to give RSL a valuable 3-3 home draw as they battle with LA and Colorado for the West’s second seed.But there’s far more to Burrito than goals, assists and dribbling tricks.
