Career Summary

Sviatchenko joined the Dynamo in March 2023 and quickly became a key contributor to team’s success by helping the club win the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, reach the 2023 MLS Western Conference Final and qualify for the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup. The Danish international also helped the Dynamo set new single-season Club records in points (54) and road wins (8), while contributing to a backline that allowed just 39 goals in regular season play, the third fewest in MLS.

Sviatchenko had a very accomplished playing career in Europe (2010-2023), playing for FC Midtjylland in Denmark and Celtic FC in Scottland. With Midtjylland, he became the second most capped player in the history of the club with 325 appearances across all competitions, recording 32 goals and 11 assists, while winning five titles with the Danish side. He also enjoyed a successful spell at Celtic FC from 2016-2018, where he finished with 63 appearances in all competitions and won six titles with the club. Notably, he was vice-captain during the club’s historic 2016/2017 ‘Invincibles’ season where Celtic went undefeated in 47 games to win the domestic treble, including the Scottish League Cup, Scottish Cup and Scottish Premiership titles.
