An elusive and skillful striker with two very good feet, Camilo da Silva Sanvezzo joined Whitecaps FC on Mar. 17, 2011, after impressing the Major League Soccer club during a preseason trial. Prior to his arrival in Vancouver, the native of Presidente Prudente, Brazil, had spells in his home country, Malta, and South Korea.
MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER
2012: After a stellar first season in MLS, Camilo signed a new contract with Whitecaps FC on Feb. 1. In Vancouver’s season opener, the Brazilian scored Whitecaps FC’s second goal in a 2-0 home win over Canadian arch-rivals and MLS expansion club Montreal Impact on Mar. 10. He then assisted on captain Jay DeMerit’s first goal in MLS, as Whitecaps FC earned their first away win in the league with a 1-0 victory at Chivas USA on Mar. 17. Camilo then scored the winner in Whitecaps FC’s first-ever victory over FC Dallas, as they claimed a 1-0 home win on Apr. 21. The Brazilian then assisted on Gershon Koffie’s first goal of the season, Whitecaps FC won 2-1 at home to San Jose Earthquakes on May 5. He also found the scoresheet during a 2-2 home draw with Pacific Northwest rivals Seattle Sounders FC on May 19 before assisting on Gershon Koffie’s second goal of the season during a 2-2 home draw versus LA Galaxy on July 18. Camilo assisted on Darren Mattocks’ goal during Whitecaps FC’s 2-1 away defeat to Real Salt Lake on July 27 before making the MLS Team of the Week for Week 23 after a goal and an assist in a 2-1 home win over Real Salt Lake on Aug. 11. He then had a goal and two assists during Whitecaps FC’s 4-0 home win over Chivas USA on Oct. 3. 2011: Camilo's first season in MLS was a memorable one, as the Brazilian was named Whitecaps FC Player of the Year after leading the club in appearances (32) and starts (29). He was also the first MLS recipient of the Domenic Mobilio Golden Boot after leading the 'Caps with 13 goals in all competitions during the campaign. After making his MLS debut as a late substitute in the club's inaugural league match at home to Canadian rivals Toronto FC on Mar. 19, Camilo was named MLS Player of the Week for Week Three after a memorable first start for the Blue and White on Apr. 2. The Brazilian's two goals and one assist earned Whitecaps FC a dramatic 3-3 home draw with Sporting Kansas City, as Camilo became the first player in MLS history to score two goals in added time. The striker then scored a fine consolation goal in Vancouver's 3-1 defeat at Houston Dynamo on Apr. 10 before scoring the equalizer in a 1-1 draw at Chivas USA on June 1. Camilo was then nominated for the MLS Goal of the Week for Week 15 after opening the scoring in a 2-1 defeat at Sporting Kansas City on June 25. He then opened the scoring with a fine free kick in the second leg of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship final on July 2. However, Whitecaps FC suffered a 2-1 defeat at Toronto FC to lose the two-match final series 3-2 on aggregate. Camilo then scored in MLS on July 9, as Whitecaps FC fell 2-1 away to Colorado Rapids, while he scored Vancouver's only goal in a 2-1 friendly defeat at home to English Premier League side Manchester City FC in the Herbalife World Football Challenge on July 18. Camilo then scored a goal and recorded an assist in Whitecaps FC's 4-2 home win over Chicago Fire on Aug. 7 before striking the consolation goal during a 2-1 away defeat to Pacific Northwest rivals Portland Timbers on Aug. 20. He then assisted on Davide Chiumiento's fine goal during a 1-1 draw at New York Red Bulls on Sept. 10 before scoring in the 3-1 home defeat to Pacific Northwest rivals Seattle Sounders FC on Sept. 24. Camilo scored twice from the penalty spot during Whitecaps FC's 3-0 home win over Real Salt Lake on Oct. 6. He then scored the first goal in the 2-1 home win over D.C. United on Oct. 12, with that performance helping the Brazilian earn a place in the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week for Week 31.
MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER RESERVE LEAGUE
2011: Camilo assisted on Bedri Gashi's consolation goal during his lone appearance for Whitecaps FC reserves that season, as they fell to 2-1 at San Jose Earthquakes reserves in the club's inaugural MLS Reserve League match on Mar. 22.
SOUTH KOREAN K-LEAGUE
2010: Following a successful season in Malta with Qormi FC, Camilo moved to the Far East when he joined Gyeongnam FC in South Korea's Professional Football League (K-League) on July 7, 2010. The striker made seven appearances for the Gyeongnam FC first team, while he scored six goals in seven appearances for the club's 'B' team. After Gyeongnam FC finished sixth in the K-League standings, Camilo's time in South Korea came to an end when he returned to his native Brazil in Dec. 2010.
MALTESE PREMIER LEAGUE
2009-10: Camilo moved to Europe when he joined Maltese Premier League side Qormi FC for the 2009-10 season. The South American had an excellent season on the Mediterranean island, as he was the top scorer in the Maltese Premier League with 24 goals and the top marksman in the Maltese FA Trophy that season with six goals. Camilo's efforts helped Qormi FC to a third-place finish in the Maltese Premier League standings, while the striker's goals led his club to the final of the Maltese FA Trophy, where they fell 2-1 to Valletta FC on May 23, 2010.
BRAZILIAN CAPEONATO ALAGOANO
2009: Before moving to Malta, Camilo scored one goal in eight appearances with Sport Club Corinthians Alagoano, who play in the first division of the Campeonato Alagoano, which is the top league in the northeastern Brazilian state of Alagoas.

Camilo started his career with Oeste Paulista Esporte Club, where he remained until he was 17 years of age. Oeste Paulista are based in the striker's hometown of Presidente Prudente, Brazil.
PERSONAL
The striker was born and raised in the municipality of Presidente Prudente in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo. He is married to wife Jessica, who also hails from Sao Paulo state. His parents are Rosange Sanvezzo and Carlos Donizetti, while he has two brothers named Danilo and Murilo.

Camilo is an admirer of Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, while he also supports Santos Futebol Clube in his native Brazil. He is also a fan of two young Santos FC and Brazil stars in midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso and striker Neymar, while he also enjoys watching Real Madrid and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo play. The striker is also a fan of the National Basketball Association.
