Acquired: Acquired on September 15, 2010 along with a fourth round 2013 MLS SuperDraft pick in a trade with the Houston Dynamo in exchange for midfielder Colin Clark and allocation money.

MLS CAREER

2013

• Played the bulk of the team’s matches in the first half of the season before being sidelined due to injuries, playing his final match of the season on July 7.

2012

• Became the 15th field player in MLS history to reach 300 career regular season games played after starting in the 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake on Aug. 4

2011

• Received a red card in the April 3 match against Seattle Sounders FC for a foul against Steve Zakuani, which resulted in a ten-match suspension.
• Made the playoffs for the 11th straight season, tied for the longest streak in MLS history.

2010

• Played 22 games for Houston before being traded to the Colorado Rapids on September 15. Made his Rapids debut playing 61 minutes as a starter vs. New England (9/18).
• Registered first assist in a Rapids uniform at RSL (9/25).
• Won his fifth MLS Cup, becoming one of three total players to have ever won MLS Cup five times.

2009

• With the assist vs. Real Salt Lake (6/20), moved into second place in Dynamo history with 22 assists in all competitions.

2008

• Started 100th game with Dynamo in all competitions vs. Chivas USA (8/20), the second player to reach that milestone.

2007

• Started all 28 of his appearances, as well as all four of the Dynamo’s four playoff games, as he won his fourth MLS cup.

2006

• Moved to Houston when the Earthquakes relocated to become the Dynamo, winning his third MLS Cup.

2005

• Helped lead the Earthquakes to the Supporters Shield title.

2004

• Scored unassisted goal and registered an assist vs. D.C. United on August 7 to be named MLS Player of the Week.

2003

• Traded to the San Jose Earthquakes at the beginning of the year and moved from the forward position to an outside midfielder.
• Made San Jose debut at Colorado on April 12 and recorded an assist in the opening minute.
• Scored a career-high six goals and nine assists, starting all 30 games of the season.
• Named to MLS Team of the Week three times (4/19, 6/14, 6/21).
• Won his second MLS Cup.

2002

• Had a standout second year, doubling his playing time from the previous year.
• Won his first ever MLS Cup and helped the Galaxy win the Supporters Shield.

2001

• Drafted 9th overall by the LA Galaxy in the MLS SuperDraft.
• Underwent surgery on his left knee to repair a torn meniscus on March 30, as well as ankle surgery on July 24 to repair a torn ligament. As a result of injuries, he only played in 10 matches during his first season.
• Made his MLS debut against Colorado (4/21) after recovering from meniscus surgery.
• Scored his first and second MLS goals on May 9, 2001 against Tampa Bay.
• Helped the Galaxy to win the 2001 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Oct. 27.

NATIONAL TEAM

• Has earned four caps (as of Jan. 31, 2014) with the United States Men’s National Team.
• Made his international debut as a substitute vs. Poland on July 11, 2004 (1-1 tie). His last appearance was in the 3-1 win vs. Ecuador on March 25, 2007.

COLLEGE

• Inducted into the Creighton Athletics Hall of Fame on April 14, 2008.
• Second all-time in Creighton in games played with 88, sixth overall with 36 goals and fourth with 32 assists. Recorded six goals and four assists in postseason action during his four seasons.
• Was a four-time all-Missouri Valley Conference selection, and the MVC Tournament MVP in 2000, when he led the Bluejays to their first NCAA College Cup championship game (falling 2-0 to UConn).
• Named to the MVC All-Freshman Team, as well as the Bluejays All-Centennial Team

YOUTH/CLUB

• Attended Regis Jesuit High School and was the 1996-97 Colorado Player of the Year.
• Led Regis to two state titles - 4A his junior year, 5A when he was a senior.
• Scored three goals and had an assist in a 5-4 victory over Horizon in the Colorado state 5A tile game in 1996. His team was trailing 4-3 before he scored twice in the last 2 minutes, 46 seconds.
• Earned 1997 first-team all-state honors as a senior in high school.
• Earned 1996 High School All-America honors from Parade and Umbro.

PERSONAL

• Has two children: Brady and Keagan, with wife Kersten, who is a former Creighton women’s soccer player.
• Growing up, he played in the Littleton Hockey Association, the Select 15 and 17 USA Hockey Teams and for Team Colorado before committing to soccer full time.
