Out of contract following 2016 season.
Perez is an experienced striker with a penchant for scoring the dramatic goal. The Panamanian international is not afraid to mix it up with opponents, but he also displays the ability to get in position to finish the chance off for his team.
INTERNATIONAL: Has played more than 100 times for Panama, making his debut in 2001. The second-highest scorer for Panama's national team all-time, Perez has played in the 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cups, was named to the 2007 Gold Cup Best XI, and reached the tournament final in 2013.
OUTSIDE MLS: Perez has played professionally in Panama (Panama Viejo, Arabe Unido), Uruguay (Nacional), Colombia (Envigado, Centauros, Deportivo Cali, Cucuta), Spain (Hercules), Mexico (Tigres, Pachuca, San Luis, Leon, Indios) and United Arab Emirates (Al Wasl) before coming to MLS. Won Colombian league titles with Cucuta and Cali. He also played in the Copa Libertadores for several of his former teams.
NOTES: He considers his father his best friend, celebrating each goal with a horns-up gesture in tribute of his father, who was called “The Bull.” Perez himself is nicknamed Super Raton (Spanish translation of the cartoon character, Mighty Mouse).
