MLS EXPERIENCE</h3>
<p><strong>2010:</strong> Drafted by the New York Red Bulls in the first round (14th overall) of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, da Luz battled through injury most of his rookie season, limiting his playing time. He earned the first appearance of his professional career against Philadelphia Union on 4/27 in a U.S. Open Cup play-in match and returned to face Harrisburg on 6/29 as a substitute.</p>

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE</h3>
<p><strong>2009:</strong> During his senior campaign, da Luz featured in 24 games (24 starts), registering six goals and fifteen assists for the Demon Deacons. Da Luz was selected to the 2009 All-ACC first team and finished his career at Wake Forest as the school’s all-time assist leader.</p>
<p><strong>2008:</strong> Following an extremely impressive sophomore season that ended in a National Championship for the Demon Deacons, da Luz tallied three goals and eight assists in 14 games for Wake Forest. Da Luz was named ACC Player of the Week and Soccer America’s Player of the Week after an impressive performance against No. 2 Maryland in which he scored a second-half goal and assist.</p>
<p><strong>2007:</strong> As a sophomore, da Luz played a vital part on a Wake Forest team that finished the season as National Champions. During his second year with the Demon Deacons, da Luz tied the school’s single season assist record with thirteen tallies, and he helped Wake Forest to the College Cup with an extra time golden goal against Notre Dame.</p>
<p><strong>2006:</strong> Da Luz saw action in 17 games during his freshman year, notching one goal and three assists.</p>
