Guardado made his debut for El Tri in December 2005 and has been a critical part of the national team ever since.
CLUB CAREER
After starting his career with Atlas, Guardado was acquired by Deportivo La Coruña in Spain's La Liga in 2007. A year after the club was relegated to the Segunda Division, a season in which he was named the division's best midfielder, Guardado was transferred to Valencia in 2012. After a mostly successful one and a half years, he was loaned out to the Bundesliga side in January of 2014. He now plays for PSV Eindhoven and is a regular in the team.
