Ambroise Oyongo signs with French Ligue 1 club Montpellier
It’s official: Ambroise Oyongo has signed with Ligue 1 club Montpellier.
Out of contract following the 2017 season.
One of the best left backs in MLS, Oyongo dished out five assists for the Impact in 2016. He was named the Red Bulls Newcomer of the Year in 2014, his first in MLS.
OUTSIDE MLS: Oyongo won three championships with Coton Sport FC in Cameroon's first division (2010, 2011, and 2013), as well as the Cameroon Cup in 2011. He also helped Coton Sport reach the CAF Champions League semifinals.
INTERNATIONAL: Played 25 games with the Cameroon national team, helping his country win the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations after starting all six games… Scored his first goal on Jan. 20, 2015, in a 1-1 draw with Mali in the Africa Cup of Nations… Started four 2018 World Cup qualifiers… Made his debut with the selection on Sept. 6, 2014, against the Democratic Republic of Congo… Also took part in the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2011.
