The Appalachian State University and University of Evansville product signed his first MLS deal with the New York Red Bulls in March of 2009, making his MLS debut against the Houston Dynamo one month later.
The Raleigh, N.C., raised goalkeeper spent three matches on the Fire’s bench toward the end of the club’s 2010 MLS campaign. In addition, Dufty spent two stints with the Columbus Crew in May 2009 and Oct. 2010.Goalkeeper Alec Dufty was signed to a regular contract with the Fire at the start of 2011. Brought in to compete with Sean Johnson and Jon Conway, Dufty is coming off his first full professional season, joining the club full time from Division 2 side AC St. Louis.
2010: Spent the 2010 season with USSF Division 2 side AC St. Louis, appearing in all 30 matches and going 7-15-8 while earning seven clean sheets…Joined the Fire “on loan” and appeared on the bench in three of the team’s last four matches of 2010.
2009: Signed with the New York Red Bulls prior to the season, making one appearance, coming on in the 8th minute of a match at Houston on 4/11, holding the Dynamo to a scoreless draw. After being waived by New York, Dufty signed
