There was no spoiling Toronto FC's party. Just ask the Montreal Impact.
Toronto FC celebrated their Supporters' Shield capture before kickoff, and then kept the festivities going with a 1-0 win over the rival Impact at BMO Field on Sunday night. Jozy Altidore scored the lone goal, burying a chance inside the penalty area in the 16th minute.
The win in Toronto's final home game of the regular season moved the club to 68 points on the year, tying it with the 1998 LA Galaxy for most in a campaign in MLS history. Toronto FC can make that record their own next week when they visit expansion side Atlanta United.

- CE-LE-BRATE GOOD TIMES: Toronto had a quite enjoyable Sunday night. The club began the evening by celebrating their first Supporters' Shield win with fans, and then stepped on the field and took care of business against their arch-rivals. Altidore scored the winner with a well-taken effort, and Alex Bono helped record a shutout, to move himself to 10 on the year, with five saves. Greg Vanney's men also made their remarkable season even more special by tying the record for most points in a campaign, with one match still to play. Clearly, nothing was ruining this party.
- NOT AT HIS BEST: Toronto FC may have mostly positives to take away from this one, but one player who will not be all that happy about his performance is Sebastian Giovinco. While he drew a penalty kick late in the first half, Giovinco missed the subsequent effort from 12 yards out by stinging the left post. He got another chance at it because Impact goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau was deemed to have come too far off his line on the attempt, but Giovinco incredibly smacked the left bar again. The Italian had another good chance to get on the scoresheet in the 65th minute, but got too far under his shot and sent it over the crossbar.
- FEELING HARD DONE-BY: Montreal might not have been playing for much, but will nonetheless be unhappy to walk away with zero points. The club not only gave up the winning goal seconds after a perceived foul on Matteo Mancosu was not called, but it also failed to finish the decent chances it had. The Impact put more shots on target in the match (by a 5-3 mark), and yet left BMO Field with nothing to show for it.
