Tata Martino finds your rumors to be quite humorous.
The latest report, one that broke on Thursday evening, suggested that Martino planned to reject Atlanta United's contract offer and return to international management.
On Friday morning at training, ahead of Sunday's top of the league showdown with the New York Red Bulls, Martino addressed those rumors, saying he's only talking with Atlanta United.
“I’m taking it with humor this morning because it’s funny in these situations that I’m always asked to clarify things, but the people who should be clarifying things are the people making these reports and these claims,” Martino said. “I’ll just repeat what I’ve said. We are focused on talking to Atlanta United.”
Martino recently said he expected to make a decision on his future within 15 or 20 days, but has now revised that decree, detailing that he and the club are in constant discussion.
“It would be a deadline to respect if there hadn’t been any kind of talks, but we’ve been in continuous talks up until this point,” Martino said. “Because of that, I don’t think we have to make any kind of decision because of the way we’ve been talking about this situation.”
Previous reports have linked the former Barcelona, Argentina and Paraguay manager to several international managerial roles, including Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and the US national team.
