Round 2 of the Cali Clasico takes place Friday night at Dignity Health Sports Park with the LA Galaxy looking to avenge a 3-0 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes at Stanford Stadium June 29.
The Galaxy (11-7-1) bounced back from that defeat to knock off Toronto FC, 2-0, in Carson on July 4. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored both goals in the final quarter hour as the Galaxy ended a three-match home losing streak, and gave them their first MLS win at home since April 28.
The Earthquakes (8-7-4) moved up to sixth in the West following a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake at Avaya Stadium Saturday night as Danny Hoesen came off the bench to score the stoppage-time winner. It was San Jose's third win in its last four games.
