Sporting Kansas City have picked up Gadi Kinda's purchase option to make his loan a permanent transfer, sources tell MLSsoccer.com.

Kinda originally joined SKC on loan from Beitar Jerusalem ahead of the 2020 season. The attacking midfielder is expected to be a Designated Player in 2021.

The transfer fee is the second-highest in club history, behind Alan Pulido's club-record transfer last offseason.

Kinda, 26, has six goals and added four assists across 18 appearances in his debut MLS season as Sporting KC finished first in the Western Conference. They prepare for their Round One Audi MLS Cup Playoff match against the San Jose Earthquakes on November 22.

Before joining SKC, Kinda was a longtime veteran of the Israeli top flight. He featured in over 200 matches since 2011, most with FC Ashdod, where he scored 12 goals in 160 appearances across seven and a half seasons. The attacker spent last season in Jerusalem, where he finished fourth in the league with seven goals and also led the team with four assists.

Kinda was born in Ethiopia but immigrated to Israel at the age of three. He has represented Israel at the U-18, U-19 and U-21 levels and has been called into the senior team, although he still has yet to earn his first senior cap.
