TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Report
Venezuelan striker Jhonder Cadiz will be leaving Portuguese giants Benfica to play with Nashville SC, according to a report from Portuguese outlet Record.
Cadiz signed for Benfica in 2019 but never featured for the club, instead going on loan in France to Ligue 1's Dijon, where he scored four goals in 22 appearances (12 starts) across all competitions.
It wasn't immediately clear, according to the report, whether a move to Nashville would come in a permanent transfer or another loan move. But the expansion club do appear in the market for immediate goal-scoring help, having only two goals in their first five MLS regular season matches.
Cadiz previously scored a career-high nine times during the 2018-19 league campaign with Vitoria Setubal, another Portuguese first division side. After starting in Venezuela's domestic league with Petare and then Caracas, he has been a regular contributor in Portugal's top flight since 2015-16.
Cadiz has two caps for Venezuela, but has yet to score at senior international level.
