Gio Reyna's star continues to rise.
After breaking into Borussia Dortmund's first team and making a few Bundesliga appearances amid a star-studded attack, he made his Champions League debut in a knockout round tie against PSG on Tuesday.
And he didn't disappoint.
The NYCFC academy product assisted Erling Haaland's game-winning goal, minutes after Brazilian superstar Neymar equalized for PSG. Reyna carried the ball through midfield before leading a pass in stride for Haaland and the fellow wunderkind did the rest, finding the back of the net from outside the 18-yard box. The goal was enough to give Dortmund a 2-1 win on the night against the French champions.
Reyna, 17, quickly rose to the Dortmund first team this winter and has made five Bundesliga appearances thus far.
Dortmund head to Paris for the return leg on March 11, looking to advance to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
