Nashville SC got a game-winning goal from Dominique Badji in the 78th minute, taking a 1-0 victory over the Montreal Impact in a closed-door scrimmage between the sides in St. Petersburg, Florida on Wednesday.
After a scoreless first half, Badji finally broke through for Nashville with a headed finish that was assisted by substitute Taylor Washington for the game's only goal.
Nashville fielded a largely first-choice lineup to start the contest, with the notable exception of Designated Player midfielder Hany Mukhtar, who was given the night off. Montreal's lineup information was not provided.
It's the second victory of the preseason for Nashville, which moved to 2-1-1 through four matches with the result. The expansion side's next preseason match will take place against FC Cincinnati in Bradenton, Florida on Sunday.
Montreal, meanwhile, fell to 1-3-0 in its preseason matches ahead of its next exhibition, scheduled for Saturday against USL Championship outfit Tampa Bay Rowdies.
