There doesn’t seem to be any shortage of suitors for former New York City FC coach Patrick Vieira — or at least rumors linking him to the next stop of his managerial career.
Vieira, who was reportedly considered a favorite to become the first coach at expansion side Inter Miami CF, is now the subject of speculation he’ll take over as head coach with Gunners technical director Edu reportedly touting the former Arsenal legend as a favorite for the job.
What does Vieira think about all these rumors?
"You can never ignore a club where you've spent nine years," Vieira told Canal Plus. "But, honestly, I'm focused on this project at Nice, I feel very good here. It's a very exciting project. I've always said that I'm very happy in Nice. We're all working to move the club forward and there is potential.”
In his first season in charge of Nice, he guided the club to a seventh-place finish in Ligue 1. Year 2 has been a bit more of a struggle with the club currently in 13th place following a 4-1 victory over Metz Saturday. However they are five points away from a UEFA Champions League spot.
Vieira left midway through the 2018 MLS season, his first stint as a first team manager, to take over at Nice.
