TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Transfer
Nashville SC have acquired Honduras international fullback Brayan Beckeles from Club Olimpia, the club announced Wednesday. Beckeles will not occupy an international roster slot and a source tells MLSsoccer.com that the deal was a free transfer.
Beckeles, 34, has featured for Liga MX's Necaxa as well as Boavista Porto FC in the Portuguese top flight. He also has 65 appearances with the Honduras national team and featured in each of his country's three matches at the 2014 World Cup.
“Brayan has been a standout at the domestic and international levels,” GM Mike Jacobs said in a club statement. “His ability to defend at a high level in Liga MX, as well as throughout CONCACAF representing Honduras, makes him someone who would slot in nicely into our back line.”
Beckeles has been deployed primarily as a right back during his career, though has also played on the right side of midfield and central defense. He becomes the club's eighth defender and 22nd player, as Nashville build their inaugural MLS roster.
