Could New York Red Bulls legend Bradley Wright-Phillips stay in the North East?
The forward, who is out of contract and was allowed to leave the Red Bulls, met with the New England Revolution, according to Tom Quinlan of WPRO, a New England-based radio station.
He is eligible for Tuesday's Re-Entry Draft, where he could potentially be selected by the Revs or any other MLS club.
Wright-Phillips, 34, scored a Red Bulls club-record 108 MLS regular-season goals and 126 across all competitions. In 2019, injuries limited the Englishman to just 1,098 minutes on the pitch, spread across 24 appearances (nine starts). He scored two goals.
In each of the five seasons prior, he scored no fewer than 17 goals in a season. Wright-Phillips won the MLS Golden Boot in 2014 and 2016 with 27 and 24 goals scored, respectively.
He was also a two-time Best XI honoree, two-time MLS All-Star and the first player in MLS history to notch 20 or more goals in at least three different seasons.
