TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Rumor
Mesut Ozil's season with Arsenal isn't going to plan, and rumors have re-emerged the German could be bound for MLS.
That's the word from Bleacher Report, which reported on Friday that Ozil, who has made just four appearance for the Gunners so far this season, is not planning to submit a formal transfer request, but is open to a move to MLS if his current situation remains at an impasse.
Ozil, 31, has been at Arsenal since 2013, one of the longest-tenured players at the club. The mercurial playmaker has reportedly been out of favor with Arsenal manager Unai Emery since the Spaniard took over at the club, and the former Real Madrid, Werder Bremen and Schalke man, who also won the 2014 World Cup, has been linked with a move away for quite some time, including specific links to D.C. United over the summer. The Bleacher Report story also names 2020 MLS expansion side Inter Miami as a potential suitor Both teams are likely to be shopping for Designated Players this offseason.
