Thursday's clash between Sporting Kansas City and Minnesota United (9:30 pm ET | ESPN in US; MLS LIVE on DAZN in Canada) is being billed the "Nicest Rivalry in Sports" by both sides, and the two teams, brought together by general regional proximity in a location known for niceness, are playing up the feelings of amity between the fanbases.
Sporting fans literally conceded Minnesota fans are "super nice."
And Sporting even lined up a full day of fun, including brunch and "BFF massages" for the Loons ahead of kickoff.
Now, will the chill vibes between pals continue during and after Thursday's clash? Sporting haven't lost at Children's Mercy Park to the Loons yet in MLS play, so a Minnesota win could upset the fun times. On the other hand, this is called Heineken Rivalry Week for a reason, so maybe we'll see the rivalry overtake the nice as time goes by. We'll see what Thursday's clash brings.
