The newest edition of the Professional Referee Organization's Inside Video Review is here, as PRO Manager of Video Review Greg Barkey goes over four reviews that occurred during Week 23 action in MLS.
There were six reviews total in Week 23, four of which concerned fouls in the "Attacking Possession Phase" which led to disallowed goals.
Barkey goes behind the scenes for all four of those APP fouls, the first of which came in Sunday's match between LAFC and the New York Red Bulls when LAFC's Mark-Anthony Kaye had a goal disallowed after it was ruled he clipped Red Bulls' midfielder Sean Davis to spring himself open for the shot. Next, there was a headed tally from Atlanta United's Miles Robinson against New York City FC that was disallowed after it was ruled the center back pushed off NYCFC's Alexander Callens.
Finally, there are two calls from the Seattle Sounders match against the New England Revolution, starting in the 27th minute when the Revs had a goal disallowed on the field for a foul on Seattle's Saad Abdul-Salaam before heading home a corner kick. Then, just before halftime the Revs had an own goal off Seattle's Xavier Arreaga called off after it was ruled the Revs had fouled goalkeeper Stefan Frei during a chaotic scrum in front of the net.
