Disciplinary Committee suspends Houston's Elis one more game, fines Quioto

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended and fined one player following Week 20 of the 2019 MLS regular season and fined another player for actions from Week 17.


Elis contact with referee, failure to leave field

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended Houston Dynamo forward Alberth Elis one additional game (two games total) and issued an additional fine of an undisclosed amount for unwanted physical contact with the match referee. The incident took place during the sixth minute of Houston's game against Atlanta United on July 17. Elis, who received a red card for the incident, served the first game of his suspension on July 20 against Toronto FC. He will serve the second game on July 27 against the Seattle Sounders.

The Disciplinary Committee has also fined Elis an undisclosed amount for failure to leave the field in a timely manner following his red card on July 17 against Atlanta.


Quioto reckless misconduct

The Disciplinary Committee has found Houston forward Romell Quioto guilty of reckless misconduct in the 43rd minute of Houston's match against the New England Revolution on June 29. As a result, Quioto has been fined an undisclosed amount.
