TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Jozy Altidore is a wanted man.
According to Steven Goff of Washington Post, Chinese club Jiangsu Suning FC have made a bid of $10 million for the Toronto FC striker, on the day the summer transfer window for the Chinese Super League opened.
Altidore, 29, signed a contract extension with Toronto in February through 2022. He has 65 goals in 134 MLS appearances, including five goals in nine appearances in 2019. He has won multiple trophies with TFC, including one MLS Cup, one Supporters' Shield triumph and three Canadian Championships.
“Jozy has been a big part of the organization and the new contract ensures that he will remain with the club for years to come," TFC GM Ali Curtis said in February when Altidore signed his new contract. "While it is important to make changes to your roster in different moments, continuity is also a critical component to successful organizations."
