After nine consecutive losses, it's now mathematically official: US men's national team defender and former New York Red Bull Tim Ream and Fulham will be relegated from the Premier League after following the season, with a handful of games to spare.
The club have taken just 17 points from 33 games (4W-24L-5D) and will return to the Championship, the second tier of English soccer. They will finish the season under their third manager, as Slavisa Jokanovic and Claudio Ranieri were both fired, with interim manager Scott Parker currently holding the job.
Ream, suffice to say, is none too pleased with how the season progressed.
"We haven't shown a togetherness, unity, desire, passion," Ream said following the club's 4-1 loss to Watford on Tuesday. "We've shown it in bits and pieces, in the first half then go dead and flat. We need to find it from somewhere. Guys need to speak up more in training sessions."
Ream, 31, has been with Fulham since 2015, making 147 appearances for the London-based club, including 22 this season. The St. Louis native spent two seasons (2010-11) in MLS with the Red Bulls.
"There should have been [strong words] all season long," Ream said. "There were some home truths. We'll see if it resonates with the guys. We will approach the remaining games like we have for every game. We will go out to try to get points, albeit meaningless points."
