FC Cincinnati enter MLS as the league's 24th team ... set to rely on league-experienced vets like Fanendo Adi, Kendall Waston and Greg Garza.
Cincy have turned heads with their back-to-front ethos of team-building and look a stubborn team quite difficult to break down. The chemistry will have to come quick, with their first three games coming away to the Seattle Sounders and Atlanta United before a home opener against the Portland Timbers. Welcome to the league.
Star players
Projected Starting XI
Team strengths and weaknesses
- Strength: A relatively clean slate. Size and speed in the attack. Most importantly, a commitment to keeping the ball out of the back of the net. They haven’t spent like Atlanta United, but FC Cincinnati are determined not to start life in MLS like Minnesota United.
- Weaknesss: Top-end attacking production. Fanendo Adi, Darren Mattocks and Roland Lamah could all go for double-digit goals. It’s very possible. They could all flop. That’s also very possible. There’s not a no-questions-asked attacker in the group.
