Minnesota United FC faced local USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC in action for Preseason presented by Advocare on Saturday, as the teams played to a 0-0 draw at Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Ariz.
New acquisition Ike Opara made his debut for the Loons, playing only the first half as the starting XI changed over for the second stanza.
Phoenix, the USL Cup runner-up last season, nearly took the lead in the 12th minute, as Bobby Shuttleworth was forced to smother the ball on the goal line in the nick of time.
Minnesota are back in action on Wednesday, when they'll face fellow MLS Western Conference foe Houston Dynamo in Tucson.
