The LA Galaxy have reportedly found their next head coach.
According to Kevin Baxter of the Los Angeles Times, the Galaxy have reached an agreement with Guillermo Barros Schelotto to be the new man in charge.
This comes following a report out of Argentina in recent days that the Galaxy had offered the position to the Argentine. Schelotto had been in charge of Boca Juniors since 2016, twice winning the league and finishing as Copa Libertadores runner-up earlier this month before departing.
Schelotto, 45, played four seasons for Columbus Crew SC, where he had 33 goals and 41 assists in 102 regular season appearances and helped Crew SC to the 2008 MLS Cup title. He won 2008 MLS MVP and MLS Cup MVP that season, as he also led the Crew to a Supporters' Shield triumph.
He began his managerial career at Lanus after he retired, winning the Copa Sudamericana in 2013.
Interim LA Galaxy coach Dominic Kinnear and former Portland Timbers coach Caleb Porter both recently turned down offers to be the head coach, according to MLSsoccer.com's Sam Stejskal.
