A new report out of Denmark indicates that several MLS teams are taking a look at an intriguing American-born defender.

Ekstra Bladet reported on Thursday that three MLS teams – the Colorado Rapids, D.C. United, and LAFC – are looking at fullback Ryan Laursen this offseason. The 26-year-old currently plays for OB, and while the report indicates none of the three teams have yet to submit an offer for Laursen, the club expects him to be bid on in the upcoming transfer window.

Laursen, a right back who can also play on the left side, has spent his entire pro career in Denmark, playing previously for Lyngby and Esbjerg. But if he signs in MLS, he won't take up an international slot, as his mother is American and he was reportedly born in California. Ekstra Bladet's report says that a move to MLS could give Laursen a chance to break into the US national team set-up. He has been capped by Denmark at youth level but has never represented them at senior level.

Though the Rapids are listed as one of the three teams interested in Laursen, their recent acquisition of Keegan Rosenberry and the presence of Marlon Hairston on the roster may now make Laursen surplus to their needs. D.C. and LAFC, however, each have just one right back under contract after their offseason moves.
