TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Trade
The Houston Dynamo acquired defender Chris Duvall in a trade with the Montreal Impact on Monday, in exchange for Houston's natural third-round pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.
Duvall, 27, has 101 career MLS regular season appearances, scoring two goals and seven assists. He also has two MLS Cup Playoffs appearances, from his time with the New York Red Bulls between 2014 and 2016.
“The addition of Chris will strengthen our defensive group as we prepare for the upcoming season,” said Dynamo senior vice president and general manager Matt Jordan in a team statement. “He joins our club at a prime age and brings extensive league, playoff and Champions League experience, which will be important for our group moving forward.”
The right back could be the starter for Houston when they open Concacaf Champions League play in 2019.
