The Philadelphia Union have signed Jeffrey Acevedo as the club’s second official representative for eMLS Cup, the club announced on Tuesday.
JisForJeff was crowned the grand prize winner of the Union Esports College Clash presented by Independence Blue Cross, powered by N3rd Street Gamers. The competition consisted of 64 players from college campuses who were some of the toughest FIFA 19 players on the east coast.
The 20-year-old Acevedo is a native of Yonkers, NY and played collegiate soccer at Division II Concordia College for two years before his career was cut short by a groin injury.
He rededicated himself to school and turned to FIFA for competitive thrills. When FIFA 18 came out, JisForJeff started his ascent to become of the county’s top gamers, collecting numerous top 100 finishes.
After the release of FIFA 19, Acevedo hit top 100 in the opening week with a record of 29-1, earning him a spot in the FIFA 19 World Series qualifiers.
JisForJeff brings a calm and composed attack to the sticks, playing natively on PlayStation. The Arsenal, Real Madrid and Philadelphia Union fan has his sights set on qualifying for a spot in the FIFA 19 Global Series, alongside gaming teammate Doolsta.
