TRANSFER TRACKER: Roster Update


After parting ways with general manager Niki Budalic, Orlando City SC have announced their roster decisions as they have exercised the contract options on Will Johnson, Carlos Ascues, Chris Mueller and more. 


Mueller, 22, finished runner-up for 2018 AT&T MLS Rookie of the Year after an impressive first professional season with 3 goals and 7 assists. 


On top of Ascues, Johnson and Mueller, the team picked up the contracts of Adam Grinwis, Cristian Higuita, Victor “PC” Giro, Uri Rosell and Mason Stajduhar.


Joe Bendik, Richie Laryea, Tony Rocha, Chris Schuler, Jonathan Spector, Scott Sutter, Donny Toia and Jose Villarreal were not picked up while the contract of Earl Edwards, Jr. expired. 


Bendik, 29, played 92 games for OCSC over the past three years. Spector, 32, was acquired ahead of the 2017 season from Birmingham City and played 38 games in MLS over the past two seasons.
