MLS Disciplinary Committee fines Atlanta's Almiron, Minnesota's Gomez

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued fines to two players and addressed a violation of the league's mass confrontation policy following Week 32 of the 2018 MLS regular season.


Almiron simulation/embellishment

The Disciplinary Committee has found Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron guilty of simulation/embellishment and fined him an undisclosed amount. The incident took place during the 16th minute of Atlanta's game against New England on Oct. 6.


Gomez simulation/embellishment

The Disciplinary Committee has found Minnesota United midfielder Alexi Gomez guilty of simulation/embellishment and fined him an undisclosed amount. The incident took place during the 71st minute of Minnesota's game against Philadelphia on Oct. 6.


Sporting KC-LA Galaxy mass confrontation

The Disciplinary Committee has determined that both Sporting Kansas City and the LA Galaxy violated the league's mass confrontation policy. The incident took place in 47th minute of the teams' match on Oct. 6. Sporting KC, as well as technical director and manager Peter Vermes have each been fined an undisclosed amount for the club's second violation of the policy this season. The LA Galaxy have been issued a warning for the club's first violation of the policy this season.
