Now Albert Rusnak’s gorgeous volley has won AT&T Goal of the Week honors for Week 27.
The Real Salt Lake playmaker’s entry, a superbly-executed full volley that marked RSL’s fifth goal in Saturday’s 6-2 thrashing of the LA Galaxy, won this week’s poll by a country mile, finishing with 66 percent of the vote.
It’s the 10th league goal of the year for the Slovakian international, who has also served up seven assists to power Salt Lake’s push towards the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs.
Finishing in second place in the GOTW race was LAFC superstar Carlos Vela at 19 percent, followed by Columbus Crew SC’s Harrison Afful (6 percent), San Jose Earthquakes attacker Magnus Eriksson (5 percent) and the Vancouver Whitecaps’ Nicolas Mezquida (4 percent).
Rusnak and RSL return to MLS action with a visit from Minnesota United on Sept. 15 (9:30 pm ET | TV and streaming info).
