Celta Vigo center back Andreu Fonta is closing in on a move to MLS, according to Spanish outlet El Desmarque.
A product of Barcelona's youth system, Fonta has played for Vigo since the 2013-14 season, making 69 league appearances over his first two seasons with the club in Spain's Northwest.
The 28-year-old has seen the field in 36 league fixtures in three seasons since, and although he has options to remain in Spain, he's more interested in a move to the United States, El Desmarque reports. No destination is specified.
Fonta did not participate in Vigo's first preseason match, the report adds.
