Real Salt Lake drew 1-1 with Eintracht Frankfurt in an international friendly on Tuesday evening, RSL academy product Andrew Brody scoring on the occasion of his promotion from Real Monarchs before Nicolai Müller netted a late equalizer for the German visitors at Rio Tinto Stadium.
With Eintracht in the early stages of their preseason and fielding two distinct starting XIs in each half, RSL brought Brody and several other members of their USL side into the lineup for the exhibition.
It was established star Joao Plata who made the magic on Brody’s goal, though, the Ecuadorian breaking loose down the left flank to drive a low, driven cross into Brody’s path at the near post.
Müller would head a last-minute corner kick into the net to level the score and keep the Bundesliga club – who gave U.S. international Timmy Chandler a second-half runout – moving in a positive direction as they prepare for their 2018-19 campaign.
