He is one of the top newcomers in Major League Soccer, a major addition to the New York Red Bulls attack.

And it appears that Argentine-born Alejandro Romero “Kaku” Gamarra could be bringing his playmaking ability to Paraguay.

Reported first by Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Kaku, who has an MLS-leading seven assists to go along with three goals in just eight appearances, is considering applying to FIFA for a one-time transfer to Paraguay.

The 23-year-old, who completed a transfer from Club Huracan in February, represented Argentina at the youth levels, including three appearances in the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand with one start. He hasn’t been called up to Argentina’s senior squad.

Kaku’s parents are Paraguayan citizens who moved to Argentina before he was born.
