At long last, Banc of California Stadium is open for business — almost.
A star-studded ribbon cutting ceremony for the $350 million home of LAFC on Wednesday at 2 pm ET is scheduled to include Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber, LAFC owners Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Nomar Garciaparra, Mia Hamm-Garciaparra and LA mayor Eric Garcetti. You can watch the ribbon-cutting ceremony via ABC7 LA here.
LAFC will train at their new home following the ceremony and then officially open the 22,000-seat stadium April 29 when they face Seattle Sounders FC (9 pm ET | FS1). It is the first of four consecutive home games for the expansion side, culminating with a showdown against undefeated NYCFC on May 13 (8:30 pm ET | FS1).
LAFC host the LA Galaxy in the second edition of “El Trafico” on July 26 (10:30 pm ET | ESPN).
